Your brows are studied at rest and while you talk, along with your face shape, eye position, and natural growth pattern. Your skin type is assessed, which matters a great deal here. You will be asked about medical conditions, medicines, allergies, and any previous brow tattoo or microblading. The artist then maps and draws the proposed shape on your face using measurements, and you review it together in a mirror. Nothing begins until you approve the shape and the colour swatch.
A small pigment patch test is done, usually 24 to 48 hours before the appointment, to check for any allergic reaction. This is not a formality. Pigment allergies are uncommon but real, and finding out during the procedure is far worse than finding out beforehand. Anyone who offers to skip this step is cutting a corner you should not accept.
The brow area is cleaned and a numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes for comfort.
