Your dermatologist examines your face while you sit and while you lie back. They check how loose the skin is, where you have lost volume, and how thick your skin is. Photos are taken. They then suggest one method or a combination: threads for a visible lift, fillers for lost volume, HIFU or RF for tightening. They will also tell you honestly if a surgical facelift would serve you better.
On treatment day, the skin is cleaned and the lift lines are marked. A numbing cream is applied for 30 to 45 minutes. For a thread lift, a small dose of local anaesthetic is also injected at the entry points. For HIFU or RF, a test pulse on a small patch sets a comfortable energy level.
Thread lift: fine, dissolvable PDO threads go under the skin through a tiny needle entry near the ear or hairline. Barbed (cog) threads catch the tissue and lift it.
